Technology Center

In today’s world, computers and computer technology are becoming more a part of life than ever before.  The program here at First Presbyterian Christian Academy integrates the use of computer technology into all facets of a student’s life.

In the preschool program, students spend time each week in the computer lab developing basic computer skills while taking advantage of riveting programs which teach them to read.

In the elementary school years, students progressively develop more advanced skills with computers, working through basic typing, navigation, file management, and they move toward operation of photo editing and office applications.

During middle school years, students work on a three-year, rotating program in which they explore a new topic each school year.  Students at this level learn topics such as simple web programming, image editing, sound and video editing, and even topics on computer hardware.

Finally, in the upper school years, students have the opportunity to work in several different topics offered, which include computer programming and other skills that benefit them in their college careers.

Technology is as much a part of student life at FPCA as it is in work life for many of our families.  Our program embraces the use of technology, with a focus on teaching students how to use it as a tool while avoiding common pitfalls associated with the public nature of information in the modern world.
